In 2022, Transition Town Forres commissioned an independent evaluation of our Social Return on Investment as part of our Community Asset Transfer application to Moray Council.
This provides us with a rough estimate of the financial value of the services provided to the public and cost savings to public bodies as a result of the charitable work that we do.

The total annual return calculated by Social Value Lab was £109,253.50.
This covered the impact of our community gardens, repair café events and wellbeing workshops, but does not take account of the substantial benefits from more recent projects such as our supply of fresh vegetables to the local food bank and the creation of a youth café. However, it was a good starting point and indicated a return of 8 times the value of the commercial rent being asked of us.
